Camp Mokule`ia Childhood Cancer Programs
Camp Mokule`ia is proud to offer free camps for youth and young adults with cancer, and their families. Staffed by pediatric oncologists and nurses, these camps provide a place for young people in treatment or remission to just be kids through their camp experience.
We’ve partnered with two childhood cancer camps, one catering to youth and the other catering to youth and their families.
Ho`oulu Me Ka Ikaika (Grow with Strength) is our annual childhood cancer camp for youth between the ages of 14 and 21. This weekend is organized by volunteer professionals and run by young adults who are themselves cancer survivors. Its mission is to give young people the tools and vision to grow with strength at their own pace, foster a sense of ‘ohana and nurture strong leaders who have an understanding of their past and control of their future.
Camp Ikaika allows you to be yourself, have fun, make lifelong friends, uplift and encourage one another as well as address some of the challenges of being a cancer survivor.
Families Can♥Sur♥vive Weekend is our annual weekend event for childhood cancer campers to share their camping experience with their ‘ohana (families). This is a 3 day weekend where families of children with cancer come together have fun, learn from each other, and regroup, refocus and renew. They grow closer and stronger together as a family and find encouragement from other families walking the same road.
Families Can♥Sur♥vive helps families get away from everything. No concerns for a while. Simply time to enjoy being a family.
Dates and Details for both camps are available on the link below.
